A Lucas Limerick

Gisborne had his limerick spotlight a while ago (HERE),
and now it's Lucas's turn.

There once was a fellow named Lucas,
Who belonged to Sir Harry’s “Team Spookus”

Many years he’d been spendin’
In a dank Russian prision,

Which is where he received many tattooses.

Lucas always has his cell phone handy.
He thinks “the grid” is fine & dandy.

He and Ros catch the fiends,
while wearing matching jeans,

their teamwork is rather quite grandy.

The limerick is over (short & sweet) but I have to post this picture as well for obvious reasons:

  2. Nat, love the limerick, but aren't you skimping on Lucas' tribute? Guy was actually given several verses, while Lucas just gets the one. The last pic of him in the black jacket is one of my absolute favourites so that makes up for it to some extent!

  4. MillyMe, Lucas actually has 2 verses, but yes I was rather skimpy this time. Other verses just didn't come to me like they did with Gizzy. Perhaps later I'll do a Lucas Limerick Part 2 if I think of anything else. :)

  5. Nat, may you always have the same sense of the silly that you do today!

  6. Nothing as gratifying as traditional poetry form for expressing silly emotion. Thanks for the big grin you gave me today.

  7. There once was a spy named North
Who with the Russians went back and forth
    Each time he went back
    It was certainly bardak*
    But he looks so good
    What do I care?

*bardak is a transliterated Russian word. I would give the definition, but this is a family blog, sort of.

Here are a couple of rhymes for your boiler suit limerick:
    foil the brute
    loyal, cute

    Anybody else with ideas?
Okay now, I am expecting a limerick now...

  13. @phylly3 - well done!
Oh dear...now I have to come up with a limerick?!?

There once was a scene with a boiler suit
That Lucas changed into to foil the brute
    After a few close calls
Lucas came back to Thames' halls
Proving finally he to be loyal & cute

  15. That's wonderful! I could only think of 'yummy fruit'

I'm thinking of a peach connection??

@Rob, I'm so glad you enjoyed Venetia, are you in love with Damerel. I am, he is such an adorable rake.

  16. More rhymes for boiler suit: loot, boot (too prosaic!), moot (as in a moot point), flute, route (pronounced as in British English).

That's enough to be getting on with.

Phylly3, you outdid yourself with several haikus on servetus' site. Why not take up the challenge and produce some sizzling verses in honour of luscious Lucas?

  17. @Myrtle -- yes, love, love, love Damerel. Plus, I love Venetia too, her character is so unlike the typical period woman. There is something so nice about listening to a story. We never out grow the need to be "read to" I guess.
