Will you buy a ticket to "The Rover"
if/when Richard Armitage returns to the stage?
Time to recycle the Richie Wonka picture...

119 Votes were cast.

Poll Results:
Yes and I live in the UK: 28 (23%)
Yes and I live outside of the UK: 36 (30%)
No, but I wish I could: 52 (43%)
No, not interested in that play: 3 (2%)

Richard looking charming in "The Four Alice Bakers" (1999):

As I mentioned last week,
Richard has expressed interest in returning to the
theatre later this year when Spooks 9 has completed filming.
I immediately thought, "Hmm... I wonder how many cRAzy gals
will be willing to clear their schedules, whip out their purses and
hand over the cash for travel/tickets?"  I think it's safe to say
no matter when RA returns to the stage, he will have an
eager crowd of followers waiting to cheer him on.

If Richard does in fact appear on stage this fall,
there's no way I'll be able to go.  I'm expecting baby #3 in
November and will be massively large-and-in-charge at the time.
I'm not going to be traveling anywhere during the last few months.
I mean, look what happened to Claire on "Lost."
One minute, she was flying on an airplane, then the next, she
was giving birth on some mysterious island in the middle
of nowhere!  Sorry Richard, but I'll just have to
catch one of your plays some other time.
Hopefully there will be more. :)

I have to admit, I was getting jealous reading about
some of your possible girls night out ideas to see Richard's on stage.
It sounds like so much fun! You'll just have to stalk cheer him on
for me. If some of you manage to surprise him at the stage door, I'll
want a full report: what does he smell like?  (Okay, that's the only
question I can think of right now, but I'll come up with more.)
Maybe it's a good thing I can't go.  I can imagine myself
showing up in a homemade Stick-Figure Richard t-shirt and in
the middle of an important scene, running up on stage shouting,
"Hug me, Richaaaaaaaaaard!!!" with a wild-eyed expression.
(I wouldn't really do that.  I hope.)

Oh! Congratulations, Nat! :D Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?

If we end up going and then seeing him afterwards, we'll let you know what he smells like... even if it's a slightly weird request! *giggles*

I imagine him smelling like Old Spice or some sort of cologne. I just want to know if I'm right. :)
(If it wasn't a good smell, I'd rather not know, I guess. Didn't think of that before! Argh!)
It's way too soon to know what #3 is yet, but I wish I knew because I hate suspsene.

All the best with the new addition to the family, Nat! As a mother of three I'd say one's kept busy, but it's lots of fun.

I'm definitely intending to make a trip across the North Sea to see Richard tread the boards. Of course I'll give you a blow-by-blow account when that happens!

My best friend lives in South-east London so I have fantasies of one day bumping into Richard while on a visit. (Hope springs eternal in the *female* breast!)

All the best for a healthy and carefree pregnancy, Nat!

Congratulations Nat! I Hope your pregnancy progresses well :)
Haha, I can totally relate to the "smell" curiousity. Smell is so important; it can make or break an attraction.... My OH always laughs when I (lovingly) sniff his neck :)))

All the best Nat!! Whether boy or girl, as long as the two of you are healthy it's probably not that important (yet..until puberty :D)
if it's a boy though you have all those lovely names to choose from - Richard, Lucas, John, Paul (Ringo ;), lee, John, Guy (?), John, Claude, Ricky, Alec, Man-in-a-Pub..
And not sure if that's any consolation but I don't think I'll be able to see or smell him either ;)

Congratulations, Natalie! I remember having my third. I was just like you -- had three under the age of five. Those are some sweet memories. Great as Richard Armitage is, he can't compare with that. :D

But whoever does end up going, they have to get you an autographed SFR picture, t-shirt. Something. LOL! That is a must!

In fact, I'm going to send mine to him for an autograph whether I go or not!

bZirk said...

Before I forget it, a really good friend of mine is a wonderful artist, and she does silk screen and I don't know what all. She has done some wonderful t-shirts for me in the past. I'll bet I could get her to make an SFR for you (probably for free) so someone can get it signed for you.

Congratulations, if it is a boy will you name him Richard, Lucas, or Guy?

Holy cow! Congratulations to you and your hubby for going for #3! (I'll bet you are secretly hoping for a girl this time, hmmm?) I always wanted 3, but as I got one of each, I couldn't talk my OH into another little darling. Stay healthy and keep thinking happy thoughts -- I guess that North & South will be permanently in the DVD player!

Congrats Nat! I wish you all the best.

I actually wondered about the smell thing as well, only because I wondered if he was a smoker as I understand it's more common in the UK than here. don't know if that's even true anymore.

If i had to guess, i'd say he's a nonsmoker and smells like clean laundry :)

Wonderful news about baby 3! I wish for a lovely baby girl for you, and maybe you could call her Marian or Margaret? Stay healthy!
I have two daughters and a son, all grown up.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! to you and Mr Nat. Hope you are feeling well.

Just now, Lucas is a very popular name for a boy here in the UK.

On the RA 'smell' theme, a lady who has been lucky enough to meet him, has posted on one of the forums that he has a lovely smell of cologne, though she didn't say which one.

In one of his interviews for Strikeback he mentions that the play maybe next year?

I had a long train journey yesterday and passed 3 of the humungous, ginormously huge SKY posters for SB, one in the actual train station, it was rather overwhelming.I bought a magazine for the journey and the pic was in that too!!!!!! I can't remember much about the conference which I attended! ha ha

Yay Nat - wonderful news on baby #3

Congratuations Nat!

I can just imagine it, there's Richard doing his stuff on the stage and then suddenly a heavily pregnant woman gets up and says "I want everyone to know that you're responsible for this Richard!(The audience audibly gasps!) I got my hubby to mess around in an RA mask in his PJ's for a video I was making and just look at the end result!"

PS: If it's a boy how about Crispin?

Congratulations on Baby #3, Nat! We're waiting for Grandbaby #2 to arrive -- he's due next week -- he's going to be Henry.

Not sure if I could do the stage door thing. I can tell you that I would be completely incapable of speech as proven the LAST time I came face-to-face with someone I really really liked. I didn't speak more than 10 words in a three-day period at a Weekend in Sherwood event. People kept calling me the Quiet One. (And I haven't been quiet since the doctor spanked me at birth.)

bZirk said...

I haven't been quite since I was about 20 years old. Before that, I was pretty shy. But I would like a chance to find out what my reaction would be if I came face to face with Richard Armitage. LOL!

bZirk said...

I meant to say quiet. I wish I weren't so anal retentive!

CONGRATULATIONS NAT!! I know I don't comment a lot (hard to keep up with all the Richard blogs and sites now a days! lol) How exciting for you though! Wish you all the best! Are you hoping it is a girl? ;-)

I am really hoping I can somehow save every penny and go see Richard in the play. I know I will have to prepare what to say to him or else I will stand there and stare at him like a stupid a**! LOL

Thank you for all of your kind thoughts. :) I am feeling well, besides being tired. If I neglect this blog from time to time... that is probably the reason. I usually tuck the boys in bed and stay up late scanning the web and blogging (my "me" time) but lately I've been turning in earlier and blogging here and there during the day when I can fit it in.

Anyway- I personally like the name "Man in Pub" for a boy... Pub for short. :) I'd LOVE to have a girl, but picture myself with a house full of boys (since that's all I know) so I won't be that disappointed if this is another boy.

Sue, LOL!!! Yes, me running up on stage in a SFR shirt with a gigantically pregnant belly is even funnier! Love it. (And NO that v-day pj video I featured a few weeks ago was not my creation.)

Skully said...

"Man in a pub" LOL! In line with this suggestion, I'd like to submit my vote for "Officer Bob" (RA in Spooks season 1) as another possible name. Lord help this child if it is a girl!

Lucas / Lucy
Claude / Claudia
Harry / Harriet
Guy / ?
John / Jona

Incidentally, RA plays lots of characters called John!

Guy? - Guylaine? Ghislaine?

Probably not a smoker. Must take care of the voice and breath control....

Actually, didn't England ban smoking just about everywhere several years ago?

Twinkling moon said...

@Judith, about the smoking, I thought that was the case, but was not 100%. I'd hope he doesn't smoke and protects his voice, but it amazes me how many professional singers do smoke!

bZirk said...

OT: I've always been amazed at the RTs (Respiratory Therapists) who smoke. LOL! Must be a helluv an addiction.

MillyMe said...

Nat, three boys are great fun especially when they're good friends and supportive of each other like my lot.

Skully, female version of Guy if it's a girl, Guyana fitting in with the trend for place names, China, India etc.?

Smoking was banned in public places in the UK in July 2007. Most countries in Europe have smoking bans in place now.

bZirk said...

LOL! Guyana was my thought too. I guess if China and India can be hung on a girl, then Guyana is no problem.

Actually, I like China and India as names.

All the very best, Nat. Crispin is a lovely name. So's Jasper.
