Does anyone else ever see people/things that remind them of Richard Armitage?
(I'm sure you all thought I was a bit nuts when I saw Richard in my child's cartoon- HERE.)
This weekend I watched "Scarlett," the 1994 sequel to "Gone with the Wind."
Sean Bean plays Lord Fenton, a nasty piece of work. I don't think Sean looks like Richard,
but Lord Fenton was totally rocking a Gisborne-like haircut that had me staring at
his blond locks and sideburns whenever he was on screen!

Although I'm a fan of Sean Bean and his wrong-colored Gizzy-do, I'm not a fan of Lord Fenton,
being a rapist and murder and all. (I mean, Gisborne was pretty much a saint, right? *cough*)
By the way, I saw Sean in "Clarissa" a few weeks ago. He and Richard certainly play baddies well!

they have been likened to each other, and there is a certain physical resemblance but much as I liek Sean Bean (and his ability to play 'good' baddies) RA is TAHT much better..
I recently watched the first part of Clarissa (mainly because I was looking for screencaps to use for dress-up Friday) and am still working my way through all the Sharpe episodes ... but RA is the better (much more subtle) actor .. and waaaay hotter :D
I had to laugh at the hair comment!!
I have been letting my hair grow from its layered short look to allow my natural waves/curls to come out. Those days when I just wanted to cut it I would look in the mirror and think - hmmm it look's like RA's gorgeous hair in RH2 - and that would prevent me from giving up! I have dark hair, with similar flips, waves and curls in the same spots as RA.
LOL - I love how everyone of you "out there" know exactly what my hair looks like now!
@tyme_4_t,
LOL!
Lucky you with the natural waves and curls.
@TeeTotallyNot,
I like Sean Bean too, but you're right. He's no RA.
Nope, Sean Bean just doesn't do it for me. Give me RA any day!
BTW, I had absolutely no memory of Sean Bean in Scarlett, I seem to remember the rest of the cast, but not him. Guess he didn't leave much of an impression :) (sorry if I offended any Bean fans out there)
Sean Bean is good. I watched him in Clarissa on Youtube and I was impressed, but it's true--Richard is just soooo much better! Even in voice only!!
Scarlet was a beautiful movie but Sean doesn't remind me of Gisborne. I was ecstatic to see Sean's character die!
Henry Ian Cusack - Desmond the Scot on LOST. Similarity of features/profile to those of RA.
(Why I'm still watching that series, goodness know - long became LOST in the plots. Well, last season, so might as well...)
I do like Sean Bean, loved the Sharpe's series, but oh my, not even close to RA. I watched Clarissa and was having trouble caring about her, much less developing any opinion of Lovelace except contemptible. Thought the actress was lovely, but she lacked anything that might fire passion.
Richard's Lovelace, on the other hand, was still contemptible, but multilayered. The duel and his death was heart-wrenching.
Yeah, I'm biased!!!
Meant to say I should probably watch Scarlett again, just to revisit Sean bean's character because I forgot him.
Guessing it's not "Clarissa" as in the old show with Melissa Joan Heart... ;)
Funny how every character Sean Bean ever plays has the same, distinctive accent. Didn't know Gondor was a part of Sheffield... hehe.
I can see what you mean about the 'do, very similar. And yes, I keep seeing people who remind me of RA too. It's a little bit disconcerting tbh! Maybe a sign that I'm going insane - aaaaghhh!
;D
@Judith, I'm right there with ya on that LOST show :)
Av, I agree that Sean/Fenton does not look like Richard/Gizzy... I just thought he was sporting the blond version of S1 Gisborne's hair.
RA is simply the best!
Can I like both?? In preparation for Clarissa I discovered young Sean Bean in the BBC's Clarissa and of course got a little sidetracked with all his other early work. In the roles they pick and are good at, is some similarity. I'm wondering if this role of Strike Back will finally put him on the BIG map. RA is definitely better spoken publicly. But SB's acting chops were stronger at a younger age.
Twinkling Moon, right on. Only son's continuing interest in Lost keeps me going.
Too much imagination, and (my) addiction to murder mysteries. Or whatever....
Not attempting unravel the plots - just going along for the ride.
@Judith, i have hung in there from day 1 with LOST, and now we're down to what? 5 or 6 episodes left? I gotta see this through no matter how kooky it winds up being :)
