RAnimation

Though I've been consumed with family events these days,
RA seems to pop into my thoughts at odd moments.

Just one example~
My 5 year old son's latest viewing obsession is
"How to Train Your Dragon" which gets played often in our house.

I was surprised to realize I have a bit of a crush on the brutish Viking leader, Stoick.
You'll probably think I'm crazy for fancying an animation, let alone one that's huge and hairy...
but it's his voice that I like. (So I guess in reality, I have a crush on Gerard Butler's deep voice.)

Of course, I like Richard's voice even better...
which is why it would be awesome if RA were to lend his vocal talents to an animated feature.
Somebody call Disney or DreamWorks, ASAP!  (Perhaps Joan should be our official
RA Fan Correspondent after reading her letter to Entertainment weekly.)

A handsome character like this would be great:
He sort of looks Gisborne-ish, right?

Coincidentally after completing this post, I received an email from Violet8886
(who did a guest post HERE) with the same screencap shown above and these comments:
"A thought occurred to me in regard to the film "Tangled."  Doesn’t the
main male character kinda resemble Richard? I know I may be reaching here...
or a wee bit crazy, LOL, But isn’t there a Gizzy thing going on here?
The haircolor…The hairstyle…The beard… I can see a Guy/Marian dynamic here.
The main female character is in control with her hair wrapped around her “prey," LOL.
Guy was often outdone by Marian.  Maybe there are way more Richard fans in Hollywood.
Or way more folks who understand Richard fans. I say, bring it on!!!"

I told Violet8886 that "great minds think alike"...
because that was nicer than saying "I'll save a seat for you in the loony bin." :)

Anyway, we all love hearing Richard's voice.
So add this fellow to your list of vocal talents, animation studios:

Whee, first comment! Save me a seat too, Nat! Lol! Anywhos, RA as a voice talent would be amazing! The guy from Tangled reminded me of Gizzy too. Something about that hair...A tall, dark handsome character would be really enjoyable to watch and listen to if it had Richard's dark-chocolate voice. Meow! Btw, I love HTTYD! Funny movie, just watched it maybe 3 weeks ago or so. Super great, & Gerard's voice is spectacular too. :)

Oooh yes, RA should do voice acting as well! I mean, he does voiceovers and audiobooks already, so the step to animations really isn't far at all!

And the Tangled character ... it's the nose really, isn't it?

Hola! Natalie you are quite right, Gerard Butler's voice is beautiful, if you want to listen to another level, you can see "The Phantom of the Opèra" the film version of 2004, he is wonderful. But, but ... Richard's voice (although he does not sing opera ...) is infinitely better and has no comparison *sighs* is so sexy!! Besos from Argentina

How crazy is this - I had the same thoughts as I watched that movie - RA!!! Especially when the character said something like " they never get my nose right" refering to the wanted posters. I sat there in the dark theater with a secret little smile on my face through the whole movie - thinking of RA. I also love HTTYD movie - and Gerard Butler - but RA is #1

Wouldn't it be fun if RA did an animation voiceover with Dawn Fench? She was lovely as Mrs Beaver in Narnia, I believe she has just done another animated movie too.

They would have such fun!

yes, RA should definitely do animation voiceover!! He already has shown he has skill bringing characters to life using just his voice, by recording books.

@Myrtle, I never could figure out who Mrs.Beavers was, just that she had a familiar voice. Thanks for solving the mystery!

As usual Nat does a great job of seamlessly weaving together posts..I like how you added my post to yours..It can off great! :) Maybe RA's recent forays into bigger Hollywood films will lead to some voice work in animated films...He can have such a soothing voice..Soothing for children and for adult females...LOL...

I don't think it's crazy to have a crush on an animated figure...We have all been there..I join you in the loony bin, Nat! LOL...

Beth, I have seen the 2004 Phantom of the Opera movie..I have it on DVD...Gerard Butler was good in it..good emotion and sexiness..I could so see RA being effective in this role..Alas, Hollywood did not know of his talents way back in 2004....

Another thing..Too bad they didn't do an animated version of Robin Hood...Gizzy in animation would be exquisite!

Nat and Violet8886 - I think you are both on to something about the Flynn character on Tangled and a possible connection to RA. See link below:

Musa..I checked out the link you posted...Maybe RA was a part of what went into the character. The article said women brought in photos and suggestions of handsome men they liked..Maybe RA was one of those men and that's how the dark hair, the nose, and the strong jaw got into the character...Hmmm...Good detective work, Musa :)

I loved the film, too, and got a crush on the spindly teenager hero :)
