The pot calling the kettle black.

I have a confession to make.
In February, I went to see "Never Say Never" with my teenage sister, Kate.
That's right, folks...  I went to see the Justin Bieber movie in theater!

In case you're scratching your head...
no, I'm not a "Belieber," nor do I have "Bieber Fever."
(Maybe I would if I were a decade younger and the kid didn't
look just like my 14-year-old step-brother.)

Before you judge, know that Kate and I were doing each other a favor.
She had two free movie passes, but none of her college friends wanted to go.
Apparently they are waaay too mature for something like that.  I, on the other hand, am
never too mature for anything (and happened to be desperate to get out of the house), so the thought
of a girls night sounded great!  We went "in disguise," wearing sunglasses, scarves and hoods, since this is
a small town where you can't go anywhere without running into at least one person you know.
(You might assume I don't care what people think... but I do have some pride!)

I had a great time.
I laughed throughout the entire movie.
No, it's not a comedy... but The Bieb's fans (both on screen and in the theater)
were so adorably hilarious with their squeals of glee and flustered expressions that my
sides hurt by the time it was over. (And my ears were ringing.)

A month has passed, and it just barely dawned on me yesterday
that I had been laughing at those squealing females without even thinking
about how I might look to others while watching North & South or Robin Hood!
I was snickering about their love for Justy-baby, without even thinking about my adoration
for Riche-poo!  (And the fact that I run a friggin' blog about the guy.)

Does this make me a hypocrite?
Well, maybe, sort of.  BUT (here comes the rationalization) not really because I also
laugh at MYSELF (and the rest of RA fandom) in general all the time.  That's why I started this blog.
There are those who take their RA admiration very seriously... but I am not one of them. After I was hit by
"Thornton Syndrome," I knew I had to embrace my fangurly dorkiness and have an outlet
to poke fun at my (our) swoon-fest in a fun and friendly way.  It has been a blast.

It's all your fault, JT.

In the future, will I stop myself
from chuckling at photos of Star Wars conventions?
Will I keep from laughing at wild Donny Osmond fans
if I go to another concert with my mom?

No way!!!

However, I can now relate.
Excuse me while I let out my own squeeeeeeeeeee!!!

I embedded this video before, but this post calls for a repeat.
Here is RA looking hot to the voice of JB:

Yes, but we RA fans are crushing on a MAN. And a very attractive one too...
Yes, my friends all laugh at me the way I laugh at JB fans. BUT I DONT CARE. Because, Richard is so worth it all :P

Richie Fever - Oh baby, baby, baby!!! YES INDEED! My family pokes fun of me whilst I sit peacefully stitching away on my counted cross-stitch of RA's most hansome face - I just ignore them! But, when one of them says his name is Richard Armageddon(or something like that) I come out of my bliss and put them all straight! Then go back to my own little world. Baby, Baby, Baby oh Baby! Yes, I've got it bad!

Yes, I have a quiet snigger at fan behaviour and then realise it is the pot calling the kettle black. I can't believe I run a blog about an actor but I rationalise by saying to myself that I do it for relaxation and enjoyment :)

PS: Just checked your visitor counter down the bottom of the blog - not far until 500.000 visits!!!!!!

don't tell anyone, I don't want my friends wearing paper bags on their heads when walking beside me, but I kinda can't get NEVER SAY NEVER song out of my head these days :)))

PS Nat, how come you haven't posted CAPTAIN AMERICA new trailer here? It features a glimpse of RA :) You have it over at my place. My other RA ladies over at Twitter went crazy about it this week :)

Love your blog Nat. You make me laugh so much! What a wonderful sense of humour you have.

Oh I have it bad right now too...It ebbed for a while but now is it ever flowing. And I can't even stop myself from talking about RA in public (to be greeted by rolling eyes and looks of 'is she crazy?' 'is she 14?'). Even my surgeon knows that some bloke called 'Richard Armitage' will be playing Thorin in TH...And I assure him that RA is wonderful and TH will of course be wonderful, and yadee yadee yada! I'm sure he cares....And yesterday, I tried to convert my nurse. I even made her listen to the TH press conference bit with RA and beard. Oh lord.... Cabin fever + RA makes from some crazy mix.

Omg, Nat is a belieber!! *giggles* Just kidding. ;)

I would love to see a YT video of an adorable 3 year-old RA fan crying because she loves him so much. :D

That's what I love about you Nat! Your willingness to poke fun at yourself is a wonderful quality. Whether it is Bieber Fever or Armitage Awe -- if you can't laugh about it -- then it could get pretty scarey.
P.S. I LOVE that video!

I have thornton and gizzy syndrome. LOL. I can see how we might laugh at those who like say Justin Beiber. But they are young girls. They will crush on men when they grow up. So I too am finding myself adopting the "live and let live" attitude in regard to crushes I might find odd. To each his own. It's all about bringing some fun to out life and Nat got it right-We don't take ourselves too seriously. Some real wisdom here..amidst the drooling and dreaming..LOL :)

I knew I could count on you all not to judge me. Except for Riv... casting those Bieber stones. Haha! :)

Welcome, Cleo!

Dezzy, I know I neglect Captain America stuff. By the time I saw the trailer (I was behind in the RA world that week) most of the other blogs had highlighted it and I was like, "meh." (The sound I make while being lazy and shrugging.) By the way- SFR answered one of your fan questions during the Fanstravaganza!
