Gratitude

My enthusiasm for blogging about Richard Armitage's work has taken a back seat to
my enthusiasm for staring at another person lately. No, not someone on @Rob's replacement list...
this person is 8 pounds of cuteness, has my husband's nose and smells of baby lotion.
She has stolen my heart... and any extra time I used to have! :)
Thank you, blog readers and RA buddies, for all of the lovely
thoughts and congratulations during this time. :)
I'd like to share a poem I love:

Song for a Fifth Child
by Ruth Hulburt Hamilton

Mother, oh Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing and butter the bread,
Sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I’ve grown shiftless as Little Boy Blue
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).

Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew
And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo
But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren’t her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow,
For children grow up, as I’ve learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep.
I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.

Between "blissfully rocking" and guarding the Christmas tree from my 2 1/2-year-old, I've been rather busy.
Therefore, I send another THANK YOU to our gracious guest bloggers! I loved receiving and reading
each post.  It reminded me of my excitement for the FanstRAvaganza in a way, due to different
people contributing their own flare on the topic of Richard Armitage.  Anyway, here's
a reward for the guest bloggers who had the courage to try something new:
Applause, plus this:
No, not the trophy...
your prize is seeing Richard in a tux. :)

Although I'll be blogging once again
(when time allows, which will mean not as often as before),
I plan to leave the invitation open for guest posts and encourage any who are
interested to contribute an entry.  Just email me your RA-related post
with any pictures/videos/links to be included.

Oh Natalie, she is adorable, I want to reach out and touch her downy hair.

Love to you and the three boys in your life, not the ones on @Robs list :)
but your husband and two sons, I am sure you will enjoy every moment with your wonderful lttle girl,

I love the poem, we have a similar version here in the UK, the last two lines are the same...

so quiet down the cobwebs, dust go to sleep,
I'm rocking my baby, cos, babies don't keep...

When I look at my 23 & 19 year old children, I realise how true that is.

How wonderful to see the contentment in the picture - I can even tell from the back of her beautiful head. You are so right, enjoy every moment and I love the poem.
I also do enjoy the guest bloggers immensely.

Nat,

Your baby girl is ever so adorable! I so understand your desire to focus on your children..How could you not? Time goes by..children grow up..You don't want to regret not being able to spend precious time with them and enjoy their "babyness"...

Blog when you can and the guest bloggers will help you out.

The poem was beautiful.:)

As the mommy of 3 sons, I am somewhat "envious" of this little bundle of cuteness! I am so happy for you. And I get to release my "pink frustration" on unsuspecting granddaughters now, so all is well. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! And I'm loving all of your inventive guest bloggers. Altho, I really DO think we need some RA time in them... ;)

What a precious bundle of joy and a well-deserved replacement of RA.

Nat,

She is a joy and the poem is lovely. How lovely. I have 2 in the wings I will send them to you just in time for Christmas. Consider it way better than my no fail fudge which is the usual gift to friends. I have often failed at the no fail fudge and am left with only banana muffins to wrap and give.
You are sweet and may you and yours be filled with many blessings this holiday season.

Nat, I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season, made all the more special by the new addition to your family. Sounds like you have your priorities in order :) so of course, we understand if you have less time for our Mr.A :)

Thanks for the opportunity to guest blog, and thanks to everyone who left all those lovely comments. I've enjoyed reading all the other guest posts, and look forward to reading more insightful and entertaining thoughts about the RA world!
