Happy St. Patty's Day!

I couldn't resist recycling this old Festive Cheestastic.
(Because recycling is good for the planet, you know.)

And we can't forget this:
Gizzy, the ginger leprechaun!  Love it. :)

RAnging in the New Year

Pretend this isn't 4 days late... and that it says 2012:
Photobucket

While I'm recycling stuff from a few years back...
check out this oldie about Stick-Figure Richard's New Years resolutions!
*Pause the blog's background music (if you can stand to stop listening
to the dwarfy swoon tune) before viewing*

Ah, a fresh new year!
So many things to look forward to... like The Hobbit.
Giddy-up, Thorin!

And while we're on the subject of horses
and looking bad-ARSE...

Okay, back to New Years.
(Apologies... my mind wonders when it comes to Mr. A.)

I guess I should make some goals, huh?
I mean... that's what people do this time of year.
I HATE being so cliche, but the first thing that popped into my head
was losing those extra pregnancy pounds that I still have...
over a year later. *ahem*

I guess there's this thing called "exercise"...
have any of you heard of it?  I'm not too sure I like
the sound of such a weird thing, so I shall look
to Richard for inspiration.

Step 1:
Get a SNAZZY work-out outfit.
Preferably tacky and circa 1991.
I think I can score one of these from my mom's closet!

Step 2:
Run like the wind!
This won't happen.  (Unless I pretend to see Richard Armitage
down the road and take off after him... with a stroller.)

Step 3:
Replace flab with muscle.
Does a 20 lb baby who wants to be carried everywhere
count as weights?  (Because otherwise, this won't happen either.)

Y'know what?  On 2nd thought,
I think my new New Years resolution shall be...
Bringing muffin tops into style!
(A lofty goal, I know.)

That, and spreading the Armitage Love!!!
I did over the holiday break a bit, and they don't even know it.

I showed "The Hobbit" trailer to 8 extended family members
(all men and LOTR fans) who loved it and were really excited!
A few even commented on how awesome the dwarfs were...
especially "that lead one who sings."  (Insert Nat's smug look here.)
Yes, my friends... even MEN are destined to become RA fans! *gasp*

I have the feeling a lot of Armitage love
will be spread by many this year!

Deck the Halls with Lots of Richard!

It's that time of year again, folks...
time to sing Christmas carols, Armitage style. :)
So clear those throats and let's belt it out together!

Deck the halls with brooding Thornton,
a dash of dwarfs with big cheese Thorin,
add some stubble and some leather,
plus a few striped, fuzzy sweaters

Pour the cocoa and the cider!
Cinch those pants a wee bit tighter!
Trim your beard, adjust that collar.
Could those legs get any taller!?

Happy Holidays, dear RA buddies!
I hope you have a wonderful season filled with
family, friends, health and happiness!
Love, Nat

Breaking news!!!

APRIL FOOLS! :)

Did I trick anyone?
(Probably not since this is the 3rd fake newspaper I've created!)
I wanted to make an April Fools Festive Cheestastic video (I have the perfect,
most cheesy song ever for the occasion) but my computer's movie maker
thingy isn't working.  *Pout.*  Maybe next year.
I've also used this photo a bunch of times.
Isn't it cute?

To my knowledge, Richard hasn't eloped any time recently. :)
Gizzy didn't end up getting married either.
Perhaps if he had Season 3 hair at the time,
Marian would have punched Robin in the face instead!

Speaking of weddings and face-punches...
this is by far my favorite Richard wedding scene.  Classic!
*Pause the blog's background music (bottom of screen) before viewing.*

I have two questions for you, blog readers:

1.  If Richard married one of his co-stars in real life,
which one would you choose for him?

2.  What is the best April Fool's prank you've done
or have had pulled on you?

My siblings and I would do the same trick to my mom every year:
wrap a rubber band around the kitchen sink sprayer, so that when she turned on  the faucet,
it would shoot water straight at her.  You'd think she would have remembered to check it every
April 1st, but we got her every time and it was always hilarious!  (Now if you'll excuse me,
I feel the need to pay my Mom's place a little visit while she's at work.)

Top o' the mornin' to ya.

Today is St. Patrick's Day, so if yer Irish me lad...
join the celebration for the grandest time to be had!

I must take a wee break from the
FanstRAvaganza to celebrate me heritage.

~Art by an undercover RA artist who doesn't like to be credited,
even though most of us have seen her work and know who did this. :)

Time to dig up the ol' St. Patty's Festive Cheestastic video once again!

Let's all dance a wee jig!

Now back to the festivities
and a new fan spotlight below!

XOXO

Valentine's Day.

A day of chocolate, flowers,
and ugly stuffed animals.

A day of dining out.

A day of huggin' and lovin'.

A day of cheestastic sappy stuff.
*Pause the blog's background music (bottom of screen) before viewing.*

A day your kid brings home a bag
filled with candy attached to cartoon-covered
cards with barely readable names written upon them.
Freddy the Valentine Frog

Some don't like this holiday.

It is called "Singles Awareness Day" by many.

There are those who have romantially challenged
significant others who struggle when it comes to gift-giving
or remembering such a day exists.  *ahem.*

If you fit into one of these categories...
don't feel blue!
I can't help it... that's the tint they used when filming!

Just remember this~

You don't need a man to receive flowers...
although it would be nice if the delivery boy looked like this:

The train scene from
"North & South" can warm any heart.
*Pause the blog's background music (bottom of screen) before viewing.*

And as our RA buddy Phylly said in this recent post,
"There are so many kinds of love -- romantic love is only
a small part of the picture. (Although it gets all the attention.)
What about the love of a parent for a child, (and vice versa) or the
love of a friend, or the love of mankind? We all share those kinds
of love, even if we have never experienced romantic love."
Amen, sistah!

I feel very blessed to have
experienced the kinds of love Phylly mentioned.
And it's okay if my hubs struggles in the V-day department.
The best gifts he could give me are our 3 children.
Sticky kisses and big bear hugs every day!

Nat and Stick-Figure Richard wish you
lots of love in many of its forms. :)
Happy Valentine's Day!

Holiday Recap

Hey, blog readers and fellow RA fans!  Nat here.  Still around, just busy
as I'm sure you have been this holiday season as well.

Here's a look at what kept me so occupied~

1. I trimmed the tree.
The Hubs didn't fully appreciate the "special" star or ornaments.

2. I helped Stick-Figure Richard address and mail his Christmas cards.
I thought this would be a quick task, but apparently he made
many friends traveling the world this year.

3. I watched "Vicar of Dibley" while knitting stripey sweaters for everyone I know.
4. Then I made a miniature Dibley village out of gingerbread.
I would provide a picture, but it looked so good, I ate it.

Speaking of my lack of control when it comes to holiday goodies...
5. I ordered 1,000 boxes of Thorntons chocolate.  (Some for me, and 6 boxes
for a few lucky family and friends.)  Of course, I had to redo the label
to make those chocolates even more drool-worthy:
Dang right.

It may have been a dream, but I'm counting it since everything else was made up.*

So there ya go.
I've been one busy bee.

What have you been up to?

I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season
and enjoy your New Year!

*Half-truths revealed: I did trim a tree (although not with RA decor),
mailed Christmas cards (featuring my children, not SFR), watched VOD and
ate too much chocolate (although, not from Thorntons.)

How the Giz Stole Christmas

Every Knot-Head down in Nottingham liked Christmas a lot…
but the Giz, who lived just north in Locksley, did NOT!
The Giz hated Christmas! The whole Christmas season!
Now, please don’t ask why. No one quite knows the reason.
It could be his belt wasn't buckled on just right.
It could be, perhaps, that his boots were too tight.
But I think that the most likely reason of all,
may have been that his leather was two sizes too small.
Whatever the reason, his boots or his threads,
He stood there on Christmas Eve, hating the Knot-Heads,
staring down from the castle with a brooding, Gizzy frown,
at the warm lighted windows below in their town.
For he knew every Knot-head down in Nottingham beneath,
was busy now, hanging a mistletoe wreath.
“And they’re hanging their stockings!” he snarled with a sneer,
“Tomorrow is Christmas! It’s practically here!”
Then he growled, with his Gizzy gloved fingers nervously drumming,
“I MUST find some way to stop Christmas from coming!”
For tomorrow, he knew, all the Nottingham girls and boys,
would wake bright and early. They’d rush for their toys!
And then! Oh, the noise! Oh, the noise!
Noise! Noise! Noise!
That’s one thing he hated! The NOISE!
NOISE! NOISE! NOISE!
Then the Knot-Heads, young and old, would sit down to a feast.
And they’d feast! And they’d feast! And they’d FEAST!
FEAST! FEAST! FEAST!
They would feast on medieval pudding, and rare Sherwood-roast beast.
Which was something the Giz couldn’t stand in the least!
And THEN they’d do something he liked least of all!
Every Knot-Head down in Nottingham, the tall and the small,
would stand close together, with Christmas bells ringing.
They’d stand hand-in-hand. And the Knot-Heads would start singing!
They’d sing! And they’d sing! And they’d SING!
SING! SING! SING!
And the more the Giz thought of this Nottingham Christmas Sing,
The more the Giz thought, “I must stop this whole thing!”
“Why, for thirty-five years I’ve put up with it now!”
“I MUST stop this Christmas from coming! But HOW?”
Then he got an idea! An awful idea!
THE GIZ GOT A WONDERFUL, AWFUL IDEA!
“I know just what to do!” the Giz laughed as he spat.
And he made a quick Santy Claus scarf and a hat.
And he chuckled, and clucked, “What a great Gizzy trick!”
“With this scarf and this hat, I look just like Saint Nick!”
“All I need is a reindeer…” the Giz looked around.
But, since reindeer are scarce, there was none to be found.
Did that stop the ol' Gizzy? No! The Giz simply said,
“If I can’t find a reindeer, I’ll make one instead!”
So he called his pal, Vasey. Then he took some red thread,
And he tied a big horn on the top of his head.
THEN He loaded some bags and some old empty containers,
On a ramshackle sleigh and he hitched up old Vazer.
Then the Giz said, “Giddap!” and the sleigh started down,
Toward the homes where the Knot-Heads lay asnooze in their town.
All their windows were dark. Quiet snow filled the air.
All the Knot-Heads were all dreaming sweet dreams without care.
When he came to the first little house on the square.
“This is stop number one,” the old Gizzy Claus hissed,
And he snuck in their house, empty bags in his fist.
He slithered and slunk, with a smile most unpleasant,
Around the whole room, and he took every present!
Bows! And arrows! Hooded cloaks! Drums!
Checkerboards! Axes! Teddy Bears! And plums!
While the Knot-Heads were snoozing, the Giz crept through town,
taking gifts and decorations, anything to be found!
Then he slunk to the icebox. He took their feast!
He took the medieval pudding! He took the roast beast!
He cleaned out that icebox as quick as a flash.
Why, that Giz even took their last can of Knot-hash!
It was quarter past dawn… All the Knot-Heads, still a-bed,
All still asnooze when he packed up his sled.
Packed it up with their presents! The ribbons! The wrappings!
The tags! And the tinsel! The trimmings! The trappings!
He hid it away in the castle's tallest tower.
He sat a-top of the load feeling mighty empowered!
“PoohPooh to the Knot-Heads!” he was Gizzishly humming.
“They’re finding out now that no Christmas is coming!”
“They’re just waking up! I know just what they’ll do!”
“Their mouths will hang open a minute or two,
Then the Knot-Heads down in Nottingham will all cry BooHoo!”
“That’s a noise,” grinned the Giz, “That I simply MUST hear!”
So he paused. And the Giz put his hand to his ear.
And he did hear a sound rising over the snow.
It started in low. Then it started to grow.
But the sound wasn’t sad! Why, this sound sounded merry!
It couldn’t be so! But it WAS merry! VERY!
He stared down at Nottingham! The Giz popped his eyes!
Then he shook! What he saw was a shocking surprise!
Every Knot-Head down in Nottingham, the tall and the small,
was singing! Without any presents at all!
He HADN’T stopped Christmas from coming! IT CAME!
Somehow or other, it came just the same!
And the Giz, with his Giz-boots ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling: “How could it be so?”
“It came with out ribbons! It came without tags!”
“It came without packages, boxes or bags!”
And he puzzled three hours, till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Giz thought of something he hadn’t before!
“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.”
“Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!”
And what happened then? Well…in Nottingham they say,
that the Giz’s hair grew several inches that day!
And the minute his leather didn’t feel quite so tight,
he whizzed with his load through the bright morning light,
And he brought back the toys! And the food for the feast!
And he, HE HIMSELF! The Giz carved the roast beast!

~Wishing you a warm and Gizzy Christmas season!~
